DANA TAYLOR SMITH is a native of Roxboro where she studied ballet, jazz, and tap under Toni Noblett. She studied at North Carolina State University where she received a Bachelor's degree in English and a Master's degree in Technical Communication. She continued her study of tap through college, and has had the opportunity to train with instructors including Buster Brawn, Brenda Buffalino, Barbara Duffy, Josh Hilberman, Dianne Walker, and Derrick Grant. Dana is a former member of Footnotes Tap Ensemble, a professional adult tap company. She is also the chairman of the Distinguished Young Women of Wake County scholarship program. Dana lives in Raleigh with her husband Michael and sons Andrew and Elliott.
