KRISTEN ANDERSON BERES graduated from East Carolina University in 2010 with a BFA in Dance Performance (Jazz Concentration). She has been dancing as long as she can remember and has always known she wanted to make a career out of teaching dance. She is very excited to be working as a teacher with CDC and has been dancing with them since the first year they opened. You might recognize her as "Smee" from Peter Pan or "Jafar" from Aladdin. Kristen was an Army brat so she danced at studios in Kansas, Texas, Oregon, Georgia, and North Carolina. Even though she has moved around a lot she has been in Raleigh since 2000 and considers this home. She has competed nationally as well as performed in the community throughout the past 10 years. She loves all styles of dance but her passion is Jazz. She has fun, high energy classes and hopes to make a difference in her students lives just like her teachers did for her growing up. Kristen is also a Fancy Feet instructor teaching two year olds through preschool age kids in local day care centers. When she is not dancing, she enjoys going out with her friends, beach trips, and cheering on ECU. Go Pirates!
